Histology Technology Positions
Seeking candidates with at least 2-3 years of histology experience for positions in the Manhattan area. Duties include but are not limited to knowledge in the handling of specimens from grossing to final specimen storage. Dictate a gross description for each biopsy specimen, dissect and prepare tissue for cassettes. Gross small skin/tissue biopsies and un-oriented excisions with minimal supervision. Larger and oriented skin excisions (under the supervision of a supervisor or pathologist). Load prepared cassettes in Tissue Processors. Operation and maintenance of the embedding station. Requirements include BS Degree in science or related field from a regionally accredited college/university. NY State Licensed and ASCP certification is preferred. First and Second shift positions available!
Hematology Openings Available in Long Island, West Chester County and Northern NJ!
These are Monday-Friday positions with shifts starting from 12:00-1:30pm and ending between 5:30-6:00pm. (18.75 hr work week) Candidates will manage the physical environment of the laboratory in accordance with New York DHSS, OSHA, and CLIA regulations, provide technical expertise and guidance on all laboratory matters, develop, implement, and monitor the quality assurance plan, oversee daily operations and promote a safe environment. The ideal candidate will also annually review and revise site specific P& P’s in collaboration with assigned Laboratory, the Laboratory Director and the Clinical Director.
Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Lab Science required. Hematology credentialing required, ASCP preferred, must have New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist Licensure. The ideal candidate will also have experience in editing and updating SOP’s and manuals, excellent phlebotomy skills, knowledge of laboratory policy and procedures and regulations, excellent computer, mathematical calculations, verbal and written communication skills.
